Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility have launched Telangana’s first high-speed TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub in Hyderabad, featuring 360 kW ultra-fast charging for up to six vehicles simultaneously. The facility operates 24×7 and is designed to support diverse EV users while strengthening the state’s clean mobility infrastructure.
Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEM) have inaugurated Telangana’s first high-speed Tata.ev MegaCharger hub in Hyderabad, expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the state, according to ETV Bharat.
Located within the iLabs Centre campus in Hitec City, the facility is designed to serve the city’s growing EV ecosystem, including private motorists, commercial fleet operators, ride-hailing services, corporate commuters and intercity travellers.
The charging hub was inaugurated in the presence of Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil, Telangana Industries Department Automotive and EV Division Director Gopalakrishnan VC, and representatives from Tata Power and Tata Motors (NSE: TATAMOTORS).
The station has a total charging capacity of 360kW and features three 120kW fast chargers capable of simultaneously charging up to six electric vehicles. The facility will operate round the clock.
The launch comes amid a sharp rise in EV adoption in Telangana following the introduction of a new EV policy and 100% road tax exemption in November 2024. According to state transport department data cited by The New Indian Express, daily EV sales have increased by 21%, rising from 209 to 252 units.
Transport Commissioner K Ilambarithi said EV registrations in the state stood at around 47,730 before the policy rollout. In FY2025-26 alone, registrations surged to 91,572 units, taking total EV registrations over the past two years to 168,646 vehicles.
The Hyderabad facility forms part of TPEM’s nationwide Tata.ev MegaCharger network, which comprises more than 750 charging points across major cities and highway corridors. The chargers can be accessed through the Tata Power EZ Charge mobile application, which has more than 500,000 registered users.
Tata Power said it has also facilitated the installation of more than 230,000 home chargers in collaboration with automobile manufacturers. The company currently manages 16.3 GW of power generation capacity, including 7.5 GW from clean energy sources, and is targeting net-zero emissions by 2045.
