RECPDCL Hands Over ₹3,200 Crore Ryapte Transmission Project SPV to Tata Power for 2000 MW Solar Park Evacuation in Karnataka 

REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Ltd., handed over Ryapte Power Transmission Ltd., the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to the successful bidder, The Tata Power Company Limited

The Tata Power Company Limited emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL for the development of the intra-state transmission project of Karnataka, viz., “Evacuation Scheme for 2000 MW Solar Park at Ryapte Village, Tumkur District” on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The SPV was handed over by Smt Monisha Barua, GM & HoD, RECPDCL, to Mr Tarun Katiyar, CEO & MD, TPTCL, in the presence of the Managing Director, KPTCL, and other senior officials from KPTCL, The Tata Power Company Limited and RECPDCL.

The transmission project broadly envisages a 400/220 kV S/s at Ryapte in Tumkur District, a 400/220 kV GIS S/s at Doddathaggalli (near Hosakote), a 400 kV double circuit line of around 207 km from Doddathaggalli to Ryapte & Kolar, and a 220 kV double circuit line of around 57 km from Doddathaggalli to Ekarajapura, Hosakote & Sarjapura, along with other associated works. The project implementation schedule is 30 months, with an estimated cost of ₹ 3,200 crore.
