Precision Wires India Limited has received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for the manufacture of Copper Wire Rods in accordance with the IS 12444 standard at its Valvada facility in Valsad, Gujarat. The company disclosed the development in a regulatory filing.
According to the company, the certification enables the production of Copper Wire Rods at its plant located in Valvada, Valsad district. While the company has confirmed receipt of the BIS approval, it stated that the formal copy of the certification is currently awaited.
Precision Wires India further noted that commercial production and dispatch of the Copper Wire Rods are expected to commence shortly, likely before the end of the current financial year. The manufactured rods will primarily be used for captive consumption within the company’s operations.
The intimation was formally communicated to the stock exchanges by Deepika Pandey, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of Precision Wires India Limited, for information and record purposes.
Copper wire rods are a critical raw material in the electrical and power equipment industry, widely used in the production of winding wires, cables, and other electrical conductors. The certification is expected to support the company’s integrated manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its supply chain for internal consumption.
