Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has been declared the successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) to establish an Inter-State Transmission System for the project “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1GW) – Part-C”.
The project will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis, at quoted Annual Transmission Charges of Rs. 430.67 crore.
Under the project, POWERGRID will establish a new 765/400/220 kV Alephata Sub-station in the state of Maharashtra. The scope also includes construction of 765 kV and 400 kV transmission lines traversing through Maharashtra, along with the associated equipment and bays.
POWERGRID received the Letter of Intent (LoI) for the project on 25 September 2026.
With this project, POWERGRID has secured nine transmission system projects under TBCB in FY 2026-27 till date, with cumulative Annual Transmission Charges of Rs. 7,664.08 crore.
