Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TATA.ev) have crossed a major milestone in India’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, with their 10 co-branded Tata Power x TATA.ev Mega Charger hubs recording more than 70,000 charging sessions and over 85,000 hours of charging.
The charging network has supported more than 75 lakh electric kilometres and helped avoid 6,690 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. The hubs are strategically deployed across Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, comprising 25 fast chargers, 56 charging guns and a cumulative capacity of 2.7 MW. Individual hubs offer capacities ranging from 180 kW to 600 kW, allowing multiple EVs to charge simultaneously.
The network includes four hubs along the Yamuna Expressway connecting Greater Noida and Agra. Three hubs are located on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada corridor, including 7 Midway Plaza – Suryapet, Hotel Vivera Narketpalle and ILabs Hyderabad. One hub serves the Bengaluru–Tirupati route at Retreat Restro, while another is located on the Pune–Bengaluru corridor at Sai International, Sangli. In addition, two hubs support intra-city mobility in Mumbai and Hyderabad.
The flagship Tata Power x TATA.ev Mega Charger site at The Leela Mega Charger in Mumbai, near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, offers 16 charging guns, comprising six 60 kW and two 120 kW fast chargers, with a total capacity of 600 kW. The facility can charge 16 EVs simultaneously and is positioned on a high-footfall corridor connecting business, travel and logistics hubs. It is designed to cater to private EV owners, taxis, ride-hailing fleets and other high-frequency EV users.
The charging network also highlights the growing commercial potential of India’s EV charging ecosystem. It forms part of Tata Power’s broader charging network, which comprises more than 6,700 public and captive charging points, over 2.5 lakh home chargers and more than 1,200 bus charging points across 690+ cities and towns.
Tata Power is targeting 10,000 public charging points and 7.5 lakh home chargers by 2030, as India continues its transition towards green mobility.
The TATA.ev Mega Charging Hub is a flagship initiative of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. aimed at accelerating EV adoption through high-speed and reliable charging destinations. The initiative focuses on developing charging facilities with multiple charging bays and customer-friendly amenities across key highway corridors and urban EV hotspots. Many of these charging hubs are accessible through the Tata Power EZ Charge app.
