Shri V. Packirisamy Assumes Charge as Director (Commercial) on PFC Board

Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) has announced that Shri V. Packirisamy has assumed charge as Director (Commercial) on the Board of the company with effect from June 2, 2026. The appointment was communicated by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, through its order dated June 2, 2026.

According to the company, the President of India has approved the appointment of Shri V. Packirisamy as Director (Commercial) on the Board of PFC in accordance with the Articles of Association of the company. He will serve in the position from the date of assumption of charge until his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shri V. Packirisamy brings more than 33 years of extensive professional experience and has been associated with PFC since January 1997. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sastra University and an M.Tech in Management Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.

During his long tenure at PFC, he has worked across several key areas, including credit appraisal, rating of power utilities, power sector reforms and restructuring, and financial analysis of borrowers. He has also contributed significantly to the preparation of Operational and Financial Action Plans (OFAP) and has been involved in consultancy assignments related to the financial and commercial aspects of the power sector.

PFC stated that Shri Packirisamy has played an important role in strengthening the organisation’s institutional framework and has contributed to the expansion of its operations as well as the enhancement of its appraisal and risk management capabilities.
