Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has strengthened its international hydrocarbon portfolio after its Energy Hydrocarbon (Onshore) business secured a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). The order, valued between ₹5,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore under L&T’s internal classification, is aimed at expanding Kuwait’s crude oil export infrastructure.
The project entails the development of Jurassic Light Oil (JLO) export facilities along with the upgrade of KOC’s existing crude oil export network on a lump sum turnkey (LSTK) basis. The scope of work includes the construction of six crude oil storage tanks, each with a capacity of 618,000 barrels, new pipelines, associated pumping and transfer facilities, and the integration of supporting utilities and infrastructure to enhance Kuwait’s export capabilities.
The latest international win reinforces L&T’s long-standing presence in the Middle East’s energy sector, where it has executed several large-scale oil and gas projects. The contract is expected to support Kuwait’s efforts to modernise its export infrastructure and strengthen operational flexibility for crude handling and storage.
The Kuwait order follows another major international contract secured by L&T’s hydrocarbon business, taking the company’s recently announced order inflow in the segment to nearly ₹15,000 crore. The continued momentum reflects sustained investment in energy infrastructure across global markets and further strengthens L&T’s overseas project pipeline.
