Advait Energy Subsidiary Signs BESPA with GUVNL for 150 MW/300 MWh Standalone BESS Project in Gujarat

Advait BESS Bhesaan Private Limited, a subsidiary of Advait Energy Transitions Limited (formerly Advait Infratech Limited), has executed a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for the development of a 150 MW/300 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Gujarat.

The agreement was signed on June 1, 2026, and pertains to the development, ownership, and operation of the standalone energy storage facility under GUVNL’s Phase-VIII tender programme. The project was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process and is supported by Viability Gap Funding (VGF) under the Power System Development Fund (PSDF).

Under the terms of the BESPA, Advait BESS Bhesaan Private Limited will establish the energy storage project in the vicinity of the 220 kV Bhesan AIS Substation of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) in Gujarat. The company will provide the contracted battery energy storage capacity to GUVNL on a long-term basis.

The project has an aggregate capacity of 150 MW/300 MWh and is expected to play a role in strengthening grid reliability and supporting the integration of renewable energy resources in the state.

According to details disclosed by the company, the BESPA will remain effective for a period of 12 years from the date of signing. The contract relates specifically to the development of the standalone BESS project under GUVNL’s Phase-VIII procurement initiative.

Advait Energy Transitions Limited informed the stock exchanges that the agreement does not involve any related-party transaction, and neither the company’s promoters nor promoter group entities have any interest in GUVNL, the awarding authority.

GUVNL, a domestic entity, awarded the Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement following the competitive bidding process conducted under its energy storage procurement programme.
