RECPDCL Hands Over Mekhali Power Transmission Limited SPV to Dilip Buildcon for Karnataka Intra-State Transmission Project

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, the Maharatna CPSU under the aegis of Ministry of Power, handed over a project specific SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) of InSTS Transmission Project of Karnataka under TBCB route viz, Mekhali Power Transmission Limited to the successful bidder i.e., M/s Dilip Buildcon Limited on 30th May 2026.

M/s Dilip Buildcon Limited emerged as the successful bidder through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator, for development of the transmission project on Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The SPV was handed over by Smt. Monisha Barua, GM & HoD, RECPDCL to Sh. Shree Dutta Tiwari, Vice President (Contracts), Dilip Buildcon Limited in the presence of Managing Director, KPTCL, Senior Officials of RECPDCL and Officials of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited. The implementation period of the project is 24 months.

The scheme broadly covers 400/220/33 kV AIS sub-station at Mekhali, 400 kV Double Circuit line of around 320 km from Mekhali to Yalawar & Mekhali to Dhoni, 220 kV Double Circuit line of around 130 km from Mekhali to Kuduchi, Aqueus & Mahilangapura and LILO of 220 kV Mekhali to Chikodi-Mughalkod Line, along with other associated works.
