PTC India Limited has appointed Mr. Sukhdev Singh as its Non-Executive Chairman, following a Board meeting held on April 16, 2026. The appointment comes into effect upon receipt of consent from the Chairmen and Managing Directors of the company’s four promoter entities and will continue until November 10, 2028, aligning with his tenure as an Independent Director.
The development follows the company’s earlier decision in February 2026 to separate the roles of Chairman and Managing Director into two distinct positions, strengthening governance structure and oversight.
Sukhdev Singh, who joined the Board as an Independent Director in November 2025, brings nearly four decades of administrative experience. A 1987-batch retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, he served across Bihar and Jharkhand in several senior capacities. His career highlights include a tenure as Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, along with leadership roles spanning departments such as finance, home, health, transport, and infrastructure.
A mechanical engineering graduate from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, Singh has held key administrative positions including District Magistrate, Principal Secretary, and Additional Chief Secretary during his service.
The company stated that Singh is not related to any director on the Board and is eligible to hold the position without any restrictions.
