PM Modi Inaugurates Powergrid Transmission Projects Worth ₹3,600 Crore in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two major transmission infrastructure projects developed by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd with a combined investment of over ₹3,600 crore in the state of Rajasthan.

The transmission systems are aimed at strengthening the grid infrastructure and enhancing the evacuation of power from the state’s renewable energy zones, especially large solar generation areas. These works are expected to improve the flow of clean energy generated in Rajasthan to demand centres across the country, supporting national efforts to integrate larger capacities of renewable power into the grid.

Both projects, commissioned in the presence of the Prime Minister, will boost the capability of the national transmission network to handle increased power transfers, particularly from solar and wind generation hubs. Enhancing the high-voltage transmission infrastructure is seen as a key step in reducing bottlenecks in power evacuation and improving overall grid reliability.

The inaugural event highlighted the government’s focus on expanding India’s clean energy transition and creating resilient transmission corridors that can support future energy needs. The upgraded infrastructure in Rajasthan is expected to play an important role in strengthening the national grid, accelerating renewable energy integration and facilitating more efficient energy distribution.
