Türkiye’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has announced the winning bids for 11 solar power projects with a combined capacity of 785 MW under its Renewable Energy Resource Zone (YEKA GES-2026) programme.
The latest tender is part of the country’s efforts to expand solar power generation capacity through new renewable energy developments.
The projects are expected to add Türkiye’s solar energy infrastructure and support its transition towards a greater share of renewable electricity.
The ceiling price for the projects was set at 5.50 euro cents per kWh, while the lowest bid price stood at 3.25 euro cents per kWh. The difference between the ceiling and the lowest bid reflects the competitive pricing process adopted for awarding the projects.
The auction provides an opportunity to bring additional solar generation capacity into the country’s electricity system.
Once developed, the projects are expected to contribute to renewable power generation and support the diversification of Türkiye’s electricity supply.
The development also highlights the continued use of competitive bidding mechanisms by countries to attract investment and accelerate the expansion of solar power infrastructure.
