Torrent Green Energy Private Limited, a Torrent Group company and wholly owned subsidiary of Torrent Power Limited, has successfully commissioned 322 MWp of ground-mounted decentralized solar power projects across Nashik district, Maharashtra, under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0 ā a scheme launched for implementation of feeder level solarisation under Component-C of PM-KUSUM scheme.
Developed across 50 locations and spanning 14 talukas of Nashik district, the solar portfolio represents one of the most extensive and geographically diversified agricultural feeder solarization projects implemented under the MSKVY framework. Power from the Project will be supplied to MSEDCL under 25 years Power Purchase Agreement
Aligned with the Government of Indiaās agricultural solarization and energy self-reliance goals, the project brings clean energy generation closer to agricultural demand centres. Local solar plants powering rural feeders will ensure daytime electricity for farmers, enhance grid efficiency, reduce distribution losses and support sustainable agriculture. The successful execution of this complex project required coordinated development across multiple locations, involving resolving land issues, grid connectivity, local clearances, engineering excellence, and simultaneous construction activities.
āThe project stands as a testimony to the collaborative efforts of MSEDCL, local administration, landowners, project partners, contractors, and the dedicated team of Torrent. This milestone reinforces Torrentās commitment to supporting India’s clean energy transition while empowering the agricultural sector with reliable and sustainable daytime electricity supplyā said Jigish Mehta, Whole-Time Director of Torrent Power Ltd.
