Schneider Electric has launched its Installed Base Tracking campaign in India, aimed at helping businesses create digital identities for their critical electrical assets and take the first step towards predictive asset lifecycle management.
The initiative comes as India’s industrial, commercial and data centre ecosystems expand rapidly, increasing the need for continuous power availability and minimal downtime. Schneider Electric said that while organisations routinely maintain records of corporate assets, critical electrical infrastructure often lacks a comprehensive digital footprint.
Through Installed Base Tracking, each electrical asset can be assigned a distinct digital identity, providing businesses with greater visibility into equipment details, lifecycle status and service history. Schneider Electric said this visibility can help organisations move from reactive maintenance towards predictive lifecycle planning and condition-based maintenance.
“Installed Base Tracking is the first step towards creating greater visibility across the asset lifecycle,” said Damini Chaudhari, Vice President, Services, Schneider Electric. “When businesses have a clear understanding of their installed assets, their service history, and where they are in their lifecycle, they can make more informed decisions around maintenance, modernization, and future investments. This helps move asset management from a reactive approach toward predictive approach, while creating a stronger foundation for efficiency, uptime and reliability.”
According to Schneider Electric, greater visibility of the installed base can provide a foundation for the further digitisation of electrical assets. Its service capabilities can enable customers to adopt more informed approaches to maintenance, modernisation, replacement and end-of-life planning.
The company said the initiative can also support more personalised service recommendations based on individual equipment and customers’ operational requirements.
Installed Base Tracking is positioned as an initial step towards more advanced digital and condition-based asset management. As asset information is progressively digitised and connected with relevant service capabilities, businesses can gain deeper insights into equipment performance, identify potential issues earlier and make more timely decisions to support operational continuity and maximise asset life.
Schneider Electric is inviting businesses to register their installed base as part of the campaign and build greater visibility across their critical electrical assets. The company said that establishing an identity for each asset can help accelerate support, simplify planning, improve visibility and potentially reduce downtime risks.
By combining installed-base intelligence with its service expertise and digital capabilities, Schneider Electric aims to help customers maximise the value of their existing electrical assets while developing a more predictive and data-driven approach to asset management.
