REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has handed over Ranipur Chunar Power Transmission Limited, the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to H G Infra Engineering Limited, the successful bidder for an intra-state transmission project in Uttar Pradesh. The handover took place on 26 September 2026.
RECPDCL is a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, a Maharatna central public sector undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Power.
H G Infra Engineering Limited won the project through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, conducted by RECPDCL in its role as Bid Process Coordinator. The project, titled “Construction of 220/132/33 kV AIS Substation, Ranipur (Mau) and 220/132/33kV AIS Substation, Chunar (Mirzapur),” will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
Rajesh Raj, Senior General Manager and Head of Department, RECPDCL, handed over the SPV to Ujjval Verma, Chief General Manager (Finance), H G Infra Engineering Limited. Senior officials from RECPDCL, H G Infra Engineering Limited and Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited were present at the event.
The project broadly envisages the establishment of a 220/132/33 kV AIS Substation at Ranipur (Mau) and a 220/132/33 kV AIS Substation at Chunar (Mirzapur). It also includes a 220 kV D/c line from Rasra to Ranipur, along with other associated works.
The project implementation schedule is 18 months.
