Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has fully commissioned its Transmission Scheme for Solar Energy Zone in Bidar (2,500 MW), Karnataka, with effect from October 5, 2026. The company received the Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO), dated October 5, 2026, via email on October 8, 2026.
The commissioning was disclosed in a regulatory communication dated October 8.
The transmission project was entrusted to POWERGRID Bidar Transmission Limited, which was then a wholly owned subsidiary of POWERGRID. The entity was amalgamated with POWERGRID Khavda II-C Transmission Limited with effect from March 1, 2026, pursuant to an order issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) on January 27, 2026.
The project is associated with the development of transmission infrastructure for a 2,500 MW solar energy zone in Bidar, Karnataka.
