IRCON JV Secures ₹763.10 Crore Smart Grid Project from TSECL in Tripura

IRCON International Limited has announced that its joint venture with Badri Rai & Company (BRC) has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) for the development of the Agartala Smart Grid Project in Tripura. The contract carries a total value of approximately ₹763.10 crore, including GST.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, the project has been awarded to the joint venture comprising Badri Rai & Company as the lead partner with a 74 percent share and IRCON International Limited with a 26 percent share. Out of the total contract value, BRC’s share amounts to approximately ₹564.70 crore, while IRCON’s share stands at around ₹198.41 crore.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacture, assembly, inspection, testing, supply, delivery, erection, testing, and commissioning of an underground power cable network covering both high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) systems. The project will also involve the implementation of advanced smart grid technologies and digital infrastructure across the Agartala Municipal Area.

Key components of the project include Smart Grid Applications such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), Outage Management System (OMS), GIS mapping and integration, underground Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) communication systems, and integration with third-party IT applications including billing, ERP, and Customer Information Systems (CIS).

In addition, the project encompasses the establishment of primary and backup Smart Grid Control Centres along with Distribution Network Automation (DNA). The contract also includes facility management services and operation and maintenance (O&M) responsibilities for the deployed systems.

The work order, identified as Works Contract No. 1(63)/GM(Tech)/TSECL/2026-27/C-302244/90-101 dated June 22, 2026, has been awarded by a domestic entity and is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.
