Havells India Limited has announced a further expansion of its cable manufacturing facility at Vasanthnarasapura Industrial Area in Tumakuru, Karnataka, strengthening its production capabilities to meet growing market demand.
The company informed stock exchanges that it will increase the annual cable manufacturing capacity at the Tumakuru plant from 4,59,600 kilometres per annum to 7,34,640 kilometres per annum. The expansion will involve an additional investment of approximately ₹255 crore, which includes the pending capital expenditure from the previous phase.
The latest announcement follows the company’s earlier disclosure dated September 3, 2024, regarding the expansion of the facility’s manufacturing capacity from 3,48,000 kilometres per annum to 4,62,600 kilometres per annum.
According to the company, the ongoing expansion programme has been partially completed. As of the reporting date, Havells has achieved an annual manufacturing capacity of 4,59,600 kilometres of cables at the Tumakuru facility. The company has invested ₹285 crore in the current phase so far, out of the previously announced total investment of ₹450 crore.
The upcoming expansion project is expected to be completed by December 2027. Havells stated that the entire investment required for the project will be funded through internal accruals, reflecting the company’s continued focus on capacity enhancement and long-term growth.
The expansion is aimed at strengthening Havells’ manufacturing footprint and supporting increasing demand across the cables and wires segment, one of the key growth drivers for the company.
