DEE Development Engineers Limited has entered into a framework agreement with a domestic engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor to pursue opportunities in India’s nuclear power sector, covering ongoing and forthcoming projects from public and private sector developers.
Under the agreement, DEE Development Engineers will provide pre-bid support, including budgetary offers and commercial inputs, along with design and engineering services such as 3D modelling and stress analysis. The company will also manufacture and supply piping products, including seamless and welded pipes, flanges and other components, and undertake documentation requirements covering quality assurance manuals, manufacturing procedures and testing protocols.
According to the disclosures made under the SEBI Listing Regulations and the accompanying circulars, the framework agreement establishes a basis for pursuing potential business opportunities. However, it does not constitute a direct order or contract. Any business opportunity will be contingent upon the award of projects to the EPC contractor and the establishment of definitive commercial terms.
The agreement does not specify an execution period or a committed order value. The identity of the EPC contractor has not been disclosed for commercial reasons. DEE Development Engineers has stated that any future orders arising from the agreement will be announced separately in accordance with regulatory requirements. Further disclosures will also be made once projects are awarded and definitive commercial terms are agreed upon.
The collaboration will focus on two key packages in the nuclear power sector: the Nuclear Island, covering primary piping and common services, and the Turbine Island, covering secondary cycle piping and light water systems.
Under the proposed arrangement, DEE Development Engineers will undertake the specified engineering, manufacturing, supply and documentation activities. The EPC contractor will manage sourcing inquiries and customer interactions, while also overseeing site activities, including fabrication, testing and commissioning.
The framework agreement provides a basis for the two companies to pursue opportunities in India’s nuclear power sector, subject to project awards and the finalisation of commercial terms.
