Danish Power Limited Proposes Capacity Expansion to 15,000 MVA for Power Transformers

Danish Power Limited has proposed a significant expansion of its manufacturing capacity for power transformers, aiming to increase capacity from approximately 11,000 MVA to 12,000–15,000 MVA. The proposed expansion is intended to enable the company to pursue larger and higher-value opportunities in the power transmission segment.

According to the company’s disclosure, the proposed expansion will add 12,000 to 15,000 MVA of capacity to its existing manufacturing capacity of approximately 11,000 MVA. The expanded capacity will cater to power transformers up to the 400 kV voltage class, positioning the company to address larger requirements in the power transmission market.

The project will be undertaken as a greenfield investment, with the estimated investment pegged at ₹150 crore to ₹200 crore. The company expects to deploy the investment over a period of 18 to 24 months.

The proposed investment will be financed through a combination of internal accruals and debt, according to the company’s disclosure.

Danish Power Limited stated that the rationale behind the capacity expansion is to strengthen its ability to address larger and higher-value opportunities in the power transmission segment.
