Bondada Engineering Limited has incorporated Bondada Hindupur BESS Project Private Limited (BHBPL) as a wholly owned subsidiary to develop, own, operate and maintain a 225 MW/450 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project awarded by AP Transco under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model.
The newly incorporated entity will function as a dedicated Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the development and execution of the project. Its responsibilities will include project financing, procurement, construction, commissioning, ownership, operation and maintenance, subject to the applicable project agreements.
According to the company’s disclosure to BSE, the BESS project is designed to provide grid-scale energy storage capacity and associated energy management services to support the evolving power requirements of Andhra Pradesh.
The project is expected to contribute to renewable energy integration, grid balancing, peak-load management and improved flexibility of the power system. The development comes as large-scale energy storage assumes a greater role in supporting grids with increasing renewable energy penetration.
Bondada Engineering said the project marks an important step in its expansion into the energy-storage and energy-transition infrastructure segment. Through BHBPL, the company intends to leverage its execution capabilities and infrastructure experience to establish a presence in utility-scale energy storage while diversifying its portfolio into high-growth infrastructure opportunities.
The company stated that the project aligns with its broader strategy of expanding into emerging infrastructure segments and creating additional long-term growth opportunities.
Bondada Hindupur BESS Project Private Limited has been incorporated specifically for the development, ownership, operation and maintenance of the utility-scale BESS project. The entity operates in the Energy, Renewable Energy, Battery Energy Storage System and Power Infrastructure sectors.
The incorporation is intended to facilitate focused project development, financing, procurement, construction, commissioning, ownership, operation and maintenance of the BESS project and related assets. The company disclosed that all required regulatory and governmental approvals have already been obtained.
