PFC Consulting Incorporates Satara Power Transmission Limited for Western Region Network Expansion Project

PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC), has incorporated Satara Power Transmission Limited as a wholly owned subsidiary to facilitate the development of a major transmission infrastructure project in Maharashtra.

The newly formed Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) has been established for the Network Expansion Scheme in the Western Region to support pumped storage potential near Satara, with a planned capacity of up to 4,500 MW (Part A). The project is aimed at strengthening the regional transmission network and enabling the integration of upcoming pumped storage projects in the region.

PFCCL has been entrusted with coordinating the development process for the transmission project and will undertake various preparatory activities through the SPV. These activities include project surveys, preparation of technical reports, and initiation of land-related and other development processes required for the implementation of the transmission system.

The incorporation of Satara Power Transmission Limited marks an important step toward advancing transmission infrastructure required to support future energy storage and power evacuation requirements in Western India. The project is expected to play a key role in facilitating grid readiness for large-scale pumped storage developments planned around the Satara region.

As part of the project development framework, the SPV will carry out the initial groundwork necessary for the transmission system before being transferred to the selected project developer for further implementation and execution.
