Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has been declared the successful bidder for the development of an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project titled “Augmentation at Bhadla-III, Ramgarh PS and Kanpur (PG)”. The project will be implemented on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
POWERGRID received the Letter of Intent (LoI) for the project on July 9, 2026, marking a significant step toward strengthening transmission infrastructure and supporting reliable power evacuation across key regions.
The project involves augmentation and bay extension works at three major substations, including Bhadla-III Substation in Rajasthan, Ramgarh Substation in Rajasthan, and Kanpur Substation in Uttar Pradesh.
The transmission infrastructure upgrade is expected to enhance network capacity and improve the efficiency and reliability of power transmission in the concerned regions. The project forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the national transmission network and support growing electricity demand.
With this development, POWERGRID continues to expand its role in building critical transmission infrastructure that facilitates seamless power flow and supports the country’s evolving energy requirements.
