NTPC Limited has informed the stock exchanges that Dr. Som Nath Sachdeva has been appointed as a Non-Official Independent Director on the company’s Board. The appointment has been made by the President of India through the Ministry of Power.
According to a communication issued by the Ministry of Power on July 17, 2026, Dr. Sachdeva has been appointed for a tenure of three years from the date of notification of his appointment or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The disclosure was made by NTPC under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations, 2015. The company informed both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) about the development.
NTPC stated that it is undertaking the necessary actions to complete the appointment formalities in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, and applicable SEBI Listing Regulations. The company added that the requisite disclosures related to the appointment will be submitted in due course.
The announcement was made through an official filing signed by Ritu Arora, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of NTPC.
