Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited (DPIL), which manufactures power cables and conductors under the DICABS brand, has received a purchase order worth approximately ₹263.25 crore, inclusive of GST, for supplying DICABS make power cables and conductors for an urban power infrastructure project of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) in the Bhandup region of Maharashtra.
The order has been placed by a domestic engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor executing the project, with MSEDCL as the end client.
The order covers medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) XLPE underground power cables, overhead conductors and control cables manufactured in accordance with MSEDCL specifications. The products will be manufactured at DPIL’s integrated facility at Vadadala, Vadodara, Gujarat.
The order has a value of approximately ₹263.25 crore, inclusive of GST. The project falls under the urban power distribution infrastructure segment, covering underground cabling and strengthening of overhead lines.
Medium-voltage XLPE underground cables form the core of the order. Underground cabling is central to urban distribution upgrades as utilities move to more reliable, weather-resilient and space-efficient networks in dense city areas. The order reinforces DICABS’ position as a preferred supplier to state distribution utilities and adds to the Company’s growing MV cable order book.
The order will be priced on a variable basis linked to prevailing aluminium and copper prices and currency, in line with the Company’s practice of protecting margins against raw material volatility. Supplies will be made against a delivery schedule to be finalised following approval of technical particulars and drawings by MSEDCL.
Commenting on the order, the management of DPIL said, “This order from a major state utility’s urban infrastructure programme is a strong endorsement of DICABS’ capability across medium-voltage cables, low-voltage cables and conductors under a single roof. Urban underground cabling is one of the fastest growing segments of India’s distribution sector, and with our backward-integrated aluminium rod mills and expanding MV capacity, we are well placed to execute large, multi-product utility orders with quality and speed.”
