IndiGrid Infrastructure Trust has reported growth in its operational performance for Q2 FY27, supported by the addition of transmission infrastructure and battery energy storage assets.
The company recorded operational revenue of ₹872 crore during the quarter, marking an 8.4% increase over the corresponding period last year.
Operational EBITDA increased 7.9% to ₹782 crore, while net distributable cash flow rose 4.7% to ₹380 crore.
A key development during the quarter was the commissioning of a 250 MW/500 MWh standalone battery energy storage project in Rajasthan.
With this addition, IndiGrid’s operational standalone battery storage capacity reached approximately 1 GWh.
The company also commissioned an interstate transmission project in Madhya Pradesh, comprising a 4,000 MVA substation and approximately 33 circuit kilometres of 765 kV transmission lines.
The addition of these assets reflects the increasing role of integrated transmission and energy storage infrastructure in India’s electricity system.
Battery storage facilities can support grid balancing by retaining surplus renewable electricity, while high-voltage transmission networks help transfer power across regions.
IndiGrid is also pursuing further expansion through proposed acquisitions of two transmission projects in Himachal Pradesh, with a combined enterprise value of up to ₹6,650 crore.
The developments indicate growing investment opportunities in India’s transmission and energy storage segments, creating additional demand for high-voltage transformers, circuit breakers, substation equipment, protection systems and grid integration technologies.
