Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) has issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to Bondada Engineering Limited, Hyderabad, for a 20 MW/120 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project following approval from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). Bondada Engineering accepted the LOI on 17 October 2026 through email communication.
The project involves the design, engineering, supply and procurement, civil and structural works, erection, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the BESS for a period of 10 years. The system will have a rated capacity of 20 MW/120 MWh at the point of injection at GIPCL’s 132 kV substation.
In a regulatory filing dated 17 October 2026, GIPCL stated that the LOI acceptance follows its earlier intimation dated 11 August 2026 regarding the contract awarded to Bondada Engineering Limited.
