Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has secured two orders in India and South Africa with a combined value of more than INR 985 crore, including taxes.
The company has received a 534.3 MWp order in Rajasthan from a leading independent power producer (IPP) in India. In addition, SWREL has secured an order for two Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in South Africa, with a combined energy storage capacity of 616 MWh, from a leading Middle East-based renewable energy project developer.
The Rajasthan project covers the Balance of System (BOS) package, while the South African contract involves a turnkey EPC wrap for the BESS projects.
The Rajasthan order has been awarded by a new customer, reflecting confidence in SWREL’s project execution capabilities. The South African order comes from a repeat customer that has previously engaged with the company and awarded the project based on its experience with SWREL’s expertise and project execution capabilities.
The South African project is the second-largest utility-scale BESS project to be undertaken by SWREL. Meanwhile, the Rajasthan project is estimated to reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 0.80 million upon commissioning, supporting the transition towards a more sustainable energy system.
