Receives NTPC approval for 400 kV transformers and secures order for two 90 MVA units for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
Indo Tech Transformers Limited has expanded its product portfolio into the 400 kV transformer segment after receiving approval from NTPC Limited to manufacture transformers in the 400 kV voltage class for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The Company has also secured an order for the supply of two 90 MVA, 400 kV transformers through a reputed EPC contractor, marking a significant milestone in its technological capabilities and strengthening its presence in the extra high voltage (EHV) transformer market.
The approval enables the Company to extend its manufacturing capabilities beyond its existing 220 kV product range to include 400 kV transformers, broadening its portfolio to cater to higher-voltage applications in India’s evolving power infrastructure.
According to the Company, the qualification received from NTPC Limited allows it to manufacture and supply 400 kV class transformers for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This development positions Indo Tech Transformers to participate in a wider range of large-scale power sector projects.
The expansion into the Extra High Voltage (EHV) 400 kV transformer segment is expected to enhance the Company’s eligibility to participate in major utility, renewable energy, transmission, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. It also strengthens the Company’s product portfolio and competitive positioning in the power transmission sector while providing access to higher-value business opportunities over the medium to long term.
