REC Limited has announced the incorporation of Nawada Durgapur Power Transmission Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), to facilitate the development of a major interstate transmission project connecting Nawada, Durgapur and Jeerat through a new 765 kV transmission corridor.
The newly incorporated company will serve as the project-specific entity for the ERES-47: Nawada–Durgapur–Jeerat (New) 765 kV Corridor, a strategic transmission infrastructure project aimed at strengthening power transmission connectivity and supporting the growing electricity demand across regions.
According to REC, the company was incorporated on July 10, 2026, with an authorized capital of ₹5 lakh and a paid-up capital of ₹5 lakh. As a newly formed entity, it has not yet commenced commercial operations.
Operating in the power sector, Nawada Durgapur Power Transmission Limited has been established specifically for the implementation of the transmission corridor project. RECPDCL, which acts as a bid process coordinator for transmission projects awarded through competitive bidding mechanisms, will oversee the project development process before the entity is eventually transferred to the successful transmission service provider selected through the bidding process, along with its associated assets and liabilities.
The incorporation underscores REC Group’s continued role in facilitating the development of critical transmission infrastructure projects that enhance grid reliability, improve regional power evacuation capabilities, and support the expansion of India’s electricity network.
