Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to strengthen collaborative research, innovation, and technology development in the energy sector.
The MoU was signed on June 15, 2026, at OIL House, Noida, by the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of OIL and the Director General of CSIR. The signing ceremony was attended by the Managing Director of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), other Directors of OIL, and senior officials from both organisations.
The partnership aims to leverage the combined expertise and capabilities of OIL and CSIR to develop advanced technologies and innovative solutions across key areas of the energy value chain. The collaboration will focus on upstream and downstream oil and gas operations, hydrocarbon reservoir optimisation, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), renewable energy, sustainable energy practices, and critical minerals.
Through this strategic alliance, both organisations will work towards developing efficient and cost-effective technological solutions with a strong emphasis on improving operational efficiency and driving innovation in the sector.
The MoU reflects OIL’s commitment to enhancing its technological capabilities through collaboration with leading national research institutions. It also marks an important step towards fostering innovation-led growth and contributing to India’s long-term energy security objectives.
