Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has approved the upgradation of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and associated systems of NTAMC/RTAMC at an estimated cost of ₹485.04 crore. The decision was taken during the company’s Board of Directors meeting held on June 10, 2026.
The board also approved the availing of an unsecured term loan facility of JPY 80 billion from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and participating financial institutions, strengthening the company’s financial resources for future growth and infrastructure development.
In another key development, POWERGRID appointed Anjana Luthra as the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer with immediate effect from June 10, 2026. The board also approved the appointment of Venkata S. V. as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company with effect from July 1, 2026.
Anjana Luthra is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and holds B.Com. (Hons.) and LL.B. degrees from the University of Delhi. She brings more than 25 years of experience across corporate secretarial, legal, finance, and compliance functions. Her expertise includes corporate governance, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, taxation, financial planning, fund management, commercial contracts, and intellectual property rights.
During her tenure at POWERGRID, she has contributed to several strategic initiatives, including the company’s Follow-on Public Offer (FPO) and corporate governance programmes. She also served as the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of POWERGRID Infrastructure Investment Trust (PGInvIT), where she played a significant role in its launch, IPO process, and post-listing governance requirements.
The board further appointed Venkata Subrahamanayam Vallurie as the new Chief Financial Officer. A qualified Cost Accountant from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Vallurie has more than 35 years of post-qualification experience, including over 32 years with POWERGRID. His expertise spans resource mobilisation, financial concurrence, enterprise resource planning (ERP), financial accounting, and internal audit.
Vallurie has played an important role in digitising finance operations across POWERGRID, including the implementation and enhancement of SAP systems. Over the years, he has served in various finance leadership roles, including assignments in Northern Region-I, the Telecom Department, and currently as Head of Finance for Southern Region-I.
