Tata Power Company Limited has executed a Supplementary Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for its Mundra power plant with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), following the temporary suspension of operations at certain units of the Mundra facility. The development was disclosed by the company in a regulatory filing dated March 24, 2026.
The agreement aims to maintain continuity in power supply arrangements while addressing operational adjustments at the Mundra plant. According to the disclosure, similar Supplementary PPAs will also be executed with state electricity boards and distribution companies in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana.
The company stated that the agreement with GUVNL forms part of a broader effort to realign long-term supply contracts linked to the Mundra generation assets. The step comes after operational disruptions at the plant prompted the need to revise existing contractual arrangements with power procurers across multiple states.
In its regulatory communication, Tata Power confirmed that the disclosure was made in compliance with mandatory reporting requirements related to material developments concerning its power generation operations. The filing was formally signed by Company Secretary Vispi S. Patel.
The planned execution of supplementary agreements with distribution companies in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana reflects a coordinated approach to restoring contractual power supply commitments associated with the Mundra plant across key markets.
