REC Limited has committed ₹11.56 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to support healthcare infrastructure at Sankara Eye Hospital in Saharsa. The funding will be used for the procurement of clinical and non-clinical equipment aimed at strengthening the hospital’s eye care services and improving access to quality treatment in the region.
The project will be implemented by Sankara Eye Hospital and is expected to enhance the institution’s capacity to deliver specialized and timely eye care services to residents of Saharsa and nearby districts in Bihar. The initiative is particularly expected to benefit economically weaker sections of society by improving the availability of advanced ophthalmic care.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the initiative was signed on March 9, 2026, at the REC Limited office in the SCOPE Complex between Pradeep Fellows and V. Shankar. Pradeep Fellows, Executive Director (CSR) at REC Limited, signed the agreement on behalf of the company, while Wg Cdr V. Shankar (Retd), Trustee and Executive Director, represented Sankara Eye Hospital.
With this CSR initiative, REC Limited aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality eye care services in underserved regions. The initiative also reinforces the company’s ongoing commitment to promoting accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare across the country, particularly in remote and underdeveloped areas.
