At a major energy forum in Goa, Russia’s state-owned nuclear corporation Rosatom exhibited its latest nuclear power technologies, with a special focus on an innovative floating nuclear power unit. This technology, designed to provide flexible and reliable electricity generation, is seen as suitable for countries with long coastlines and scattered island territories.
During the event, Rosatom representatives expressed strong interest in expanding collaboration with Indian partners. They highlighted opportunities for joint research initiatives, particularly in areas such as advanced nuclear systems, small modular reactors (SMRs), and related scientific cooperation. The company emphasised its readiness to work with Indian institutions and industry on shared research and development efforts.
In addition to floating power units, Rosatom displayed other nuclear solutions, including larger reactor designs and SMR concepts that could support both large-scale power needs and decentralized energy applications. The discussions at the gathering also underscored broader prospects for deepening ties in nuclear technology, training, and innovation across peaceful civilian uses.
Through its participation in the event, Rosatom reaffirmed its intention to build stronger technical and research partnerships, reflecting growing interest in nuclear energy cooperation between Russia and India.
