The Jharkhand government will showcase its energy transition model at major global platforms, including the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, and during an official visit to the United Kingdom, as part of efforts to attract international partnerships in clean energy and sustainable development.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren will lead the state delegation, marking his first participation at the WEF in Davos. The visit aims to strengthen global engagement and position Jharkhand as an emerging destination for investments in renewable energy, grid modernization, energy storage, clean fuels, and industrial decarbonization.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Friday, the state will engage with global energy leaders, investors, technology providers, and policy institutions at Davos to highlight opportunities across the clean energy value chain. Jharkhand will also use the UK visit to deepen collaboration with international partners.
The state’s energy transition strategy is based on responsible diversification, leveraging existing energy infrastructure while accelerating investments in solar power, emerging clean technologies, and efficiency-driven systems. The approach is guided by Jharkhand’s development philosophy of “Growth in Harmony with Nature,” with a focus on inclusive transitions that benefit local communities.
“Through its engagements at Davos and in the United Kingdom, Jharkhand will present an energy transition model that is credible, inclusive, and globally relevant—one that powers economic growth while respecting the limits of nature and the aspirations of future generations,” the statement said.
