The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) to Neenjas Electric to allot a 20,000 square metre plot in Sector 8D, Greater Noida, for establishing a large-scale EV charging and related technology facility, according to an official announcement.
Under the agreement, Neenjas Electric plans to invest around ₹169 crore in developing the site into a hub for advanced EV charging solutions and renewable energy products, including both on-board and off-board EV chargers, IP-rated charging units and AC-DC power converters tailored for Indian conditions.
YEIDA’s Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh said the allotment forms part of the authority’s push to support the ‘Make in India’ initiative and strengthen the nation’s EV infrastructure, as well as to boost local manufacturing and green technology adoption.
The facility will also include plans to produce solar power banks aimed at improving energy self-reliance for consumers, and the project is expected to create employment opportunities for local residents while enhancing Greater Noida’s position as a manufacturing hub for green technologies.
Officials noted that the proximity of the site to the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar makes the location strategically attractive, reducing logistics costs and encouraging investment by companies looking to serve both domestic and export-oriented markets.
This move aligns with broader efforts to build EV charging capacity across India, where public and private stakeholders have been expanding charging networks and offering incentives to support electric mobility infrastructure.
