Bondada Engineering Limited has won a ₹627 crore contract from the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (AP Transco) to develop a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Under the deal, Bondada Engineering will build and operate a 225 MW / 450 MWh standalone BESS facility at the 400/220 kV Hindupur substation in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model.
The project is scheduled to be executed within 18 months from the receipt of the Letter of Award (LoA). Once completed, it is expected to generate long-term annuity-based revenue, enhancing the company’s revenue stability and cash-flow visibility, the company said.
With this order, Bondada Engineering’s cumulative BESS portfolio has reached nearly 1 GWh, strengthening its presence in India’s grid-scale energy storage market.
The contract win also positions the company as a credible player in the rapidly growing energy storage ecosystem, with the project expected to contribute meaningfully to revenues after commissioning.
