MTAR Technologies Limited, a leading Indian precision engineering and manufacturing company, has secured a significant order valued at ₹3.10 billion (approximately ₹310 crore) from Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEL) for the supply of specialised equipment for nuclear power reactors.
Under the contract, MTAR will manufacture and deliver a range of critical nuclear equipment for the Kaiga Units 5 and 6 civil nuclear power plants in Karnataka. The deliveries are planned to be executed in a phased schedule through February 2030, aligning with project timelines for the two reactor units.
This new order further strengthens MTAR’s involvement in India’s expanding nuclear energy infrastructure, building on previously secured contracts for the same projects. With the latest award, the company’s cumulative order inflows for the Kaiga 5 and 6 programmes in the current month have risen to around ₹5.04 billion.
MTAR’s role in supplying reactor-specific engineering products highlights its growing footprint in the civil nuclear power sector. The company’s expertise in precision manufacturing and its capabilities across complex energy systems have positioned it as a key partner for major nuclear construction programmes in India.
Industry observers note that rising orders in the nuclear segment reflect the broader push to scale up India’s clean energy capacity, with nuclear power playing a strategic role in meeting long-term energy and climate goals.
