Tata Power Restarts Mundra Plant, Restoring Full 4,150 MW Capacity

The Tata Power Company Limited has announced the full resumption of operations at its Mundra-based power plant, restoring its entire installed capacity of 4,150 MW. The plant is now fully operational following a temporary suspension, strengthening the company’s generation capabilities and supporting national power demand.

The Mundra facility, a key asset in Tata Power’s generation portfolio, had earlier undergone a temporary shutdown of its units. The company confirmed that all operational protocols have been successfully completed, enabling the plant to return to active service effective April 1, 2026.

With the revival of the Mundra plant, Tata Power significantly enhances its total power output capacity. The restored 4,150 MW capacity is expected to play a crucial role in meeting supply commitments and ensuring grid stability. The development underscores the company’s continued focus on operational efficiency across its thermal power assets, reinforcing its role in delivering reliable energy to the grid.
