Suzlon Group has secured a repeat wind energy order of around 100 MW from GAIL (India) Limited, reinforcing its growing presence in the public sector renewable energy segment.
The project will be executed in the Nandurbar district of Maharashtra and is aimed at supporting the decarbonisation of GAIL’s upcoming petrochemical plant in the state.
Under the contract, Suzlon will install 47 S120 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. The company’s scope includes supply of equipment, erection, commissioning, and post-commissioning operations and maintenance services, reflecting its end-to-end project execution capabilities.
This marks Suzlon’s sixth repeat order from GAIL and its fourth PSU order in FY26, highlighting strong order visibility and continued trust from government-backed entities.
The partnership between Suzlon and GAIL spans over 15 years, with previous projects executed across states such as Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, and the latest order marking their first collaboration in Maharashtra.
Suzlon’s growing focus on PSU and commercial & industrial (C&I) clients is evident, with these segments now contributing over 64% of its order book, indicating a strategic shift toward stable, long-term contracts.
Overall, the repeat order underscores Suzlon’s strengthening position in India’s renewable energy sector, while also reflecting the increasing role of public sector undertakings in driving clean energy adoption and decarbonisation initiatives.
