Sarda Energy & Minerals Ltd. has received the Consent to Operate from the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board (CECB), Raipur, enabling an expansion of its Gare Palma IV/7 Coal Mine, also known as the Karwahi Open Cast Coal Mine. The approval authorizes an increase in production capacity from 1.68 MTPA to 1.80 MTPA, reinforcing the company’s operational output plans.
The company announced on Wednesday, that the environmental consent was granted under the provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. This regulatory clearance marks a key milestone for the mine’s capacity enhancement.
With the revised authorization, Sarda Energy & Minerals Ltd. can raise its production capability from 1.68 MTPA (Million Tonnes Per Annum) to 1.80 MTPA. The incremental increase supports the company’s near-term production targets and operational projections.
The disclosure regarding the approval has been submitted to BSE Ltd. and the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd., under Security Code 504614 and Symbol SARDAEN, respectively, in line with statutory reporting requirements.
