POWERGRID Subsidiary Successfully Commissions Major Inter-State Transmission Project in Rajasthan

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. announced that POWERGRID Narela Transmission Limited, its wholly owned subsidiary, has successfully commissioned the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project titled “Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for evacuation of power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-G.” The project has been fully commissioned with effect from December 7, 2025, and the Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) was received via email on February 24, 2026.

The disclosure was made in compliance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, as amended. The company formally informed both the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited regarding the development.

The project was secured through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) and carries a mandate for implementing critical transmission infrastructure to facilitate the evacuation of renewable energy from designated Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan, with a planned capacity of 8.1 GW.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, the commissioning marks the completion of all project elements under Phase-II Part-G, strengthening the national grid’s capability to integrate large-scale solar generation.
