Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID) charges 765 kV Bhadla II–Sikar II transmission line, strengthening renewable energy evacuation and national power grid capacity.
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has successfully charged the 765 kV double-circuit Bhadla II–Sikar II (Second Circuit) transmission line, marking a major step in strengthening India’s high-capacity power transmission network for renewable energy evacuation from Rajasthan.
The commissioning of the line significantly enhances the region’s ability to transmit large volumes of renewable energy to load centers, supporting India’s clean energy transition and national grid stability.
The occasion was witnessed by G. Ravisankar, Director (Finance), along with Abhinav Verma, Chief General Manager and Head of Rajasthan Projects, and other senior POWERGRID officials.
Officials said the project will play a vital role in integrating renewable generation from Rajasthan into the national grid, enabling more efficient power flow and contributing to India’s long-term energy security goals.
