Nesma Infrastructure & Technology has secured a SAR 150 million contract from the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to build a new 380 kV double-circuit overhead transmission line, strengthening the kingdom’s move toward large-scale renewable energy integration.
The project will connect the existing 9095–9037 bulk supply point (BSP) to the upcoming Samha Wind BSP, creating a crucial high-voltage link designed to transmit power generated from future wind projects in the region. The new line will play a key role in enabling the evacuation and distribution of clean energy as Saudi Arabia accelerates its transition toward a diversified and sustainable power mix.
This transmission line forms part of the wider grid expansion strategy under the kingdom’s renewable energy goals, which aim to boost the share of wind and solar power while enhancing grid reliability. With this contract, Nesma continues to strengthen its position in Saudi Arabia’s high-voltage transmission and infrastructure development sector.
