Mr. Rajesh Jayachandran, Director – LSE India, LS Electric Co. Ltd.

“The company is developing intelligent grid solutions that balance supply and demand in real time, making renewable sources like solar and wind more reliable. It is also investing in energy storage systems that store excess renewable power and release it when demand is high, reducing dependence on fossil fuels.”

How would you describe the company’s mission and long-term vision, particularly its role in shaping the future of smart energy?

LS Electric’s mission is to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable electrical solutions that empower industries and societies to transition toward smarter energy systems. The company positions itself not just as a manufacturer of electrical equipment, but as a technology partner driving digital transformation in power infrastructure.

Its long-term vision is centred on shaping the future of smart energy by integrating advanced automation, renewable energy solutions, and digital platforms. LS Electric is investing in smart grids, energy management systems, and eco-friendly technologies that enable efficient use of electricity, reduce carbon footprints, and support global sustainability goals.

By combining traditional strengths in power distribution with innovations in IoT, AI, and cloud-based monitoring, LS Electric aims to create intelligent ecosystems where energy is not only consumed but actively optimised. In this way, the company sees itself as a catalyst for the transition to a low-carbon society, aligning with both industrial growth and environmental responsibility.

What will be your key strategic priorities for driving global growth over the next few years?

Our key strategic priorities for driving global growth over the next few years would focus on expanding LS Electric’s smart energy solutions by accelerating the adoption of smart grids, renewable integration, and advanced energy management systems, while strengthening global partnerships with utilities, governments, and technology leaders to penetrate new markets and tailor solutions to regional needs.

Here in India, we are strategically projecting towards the project business from this year onward, which will significantly expand the dimensions of our business portfolio. By moving beyond product-driven engagements into turnkey projects and integrated solutions, we aim to strengthen our market presence, diversify revenue streams, and deliver greater value to customers. This transition positions LS Electric India not only as a supplier of advanced electrical equipment but as a trusted partner in executing large-scale smart energy and infrastructure projects, aligning with our global vision of sustainable and intelligent energy systems.

At the same time, we are emphasising innovation and digital transformation through investment in IoT-enabled devices, AI-driven monitoring, and cloud-based platforms, shifting our portfolio from hardware-centric products to integrated service and solution offerings. Finally, operational excellence and strict compliance across geographies will be critical to ensure quality, safety, and customer trust, supported by reliable products and strong after-sales service. Together, these priorities will diversify revenue streams, strengthen LS Electric’s global footprint, and establish the company as a trusted partner in shaping the future of smart energy worldwide.

How is the company advancing the global transition towards sustainable, carbon-neutral energy systems?

LS Electric is advancing the global transition towards sustainable, carbon-neutral energy systems by focusing on smart grids, renewable energy integration, and digital energy management. The company is developing intelligent grid solutions that balance supply and demand in real time, making renewable sources like solar and wind more reliable. It is also investing in energy storage systems that store excess renewable power and release it when demand is high, reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Alongside this, LS Electric is building IoT-enabled and AI-driven platforms that help industries and cities monitor and optimise their energy use, directly lowering carbon emissions. The company designs eco-friendly products, manages their lifecycle to minimise environmental impact, and aligns its strategy with global sustainability goals such as the UN SDGs. By combining traditional strengths in power distribution with innovation in digital technology, LS Electric is positioning itself as a trusted partner in creating smart, resilient, and carbon-neutral energy ecosystems worldwide.

Which operational challenges currently have the biggest impact on the company’s performance?

LS Electric, like many players, is navigating diverse regulatory environments across different regions, where compliance requirements vary and can slow down market entry. In addition, the rapid pace of technological change means the company must continuously invest in R&D and workforce upskilling to stay competitive, which places pressure on margins.

Cybersecurity and digital resilience are also critical, as the shift toward IoT-enabled and cloud-based energy management systems exposes operations to new risks. Finally, balancing global expansion with localised execution, ensuring that solutions are tailored to regional infrastructure and customer needs, remains a complex operational priority. Together, these challenges require proactive management to sustain growth while maintaining reliability, compliance, and customer trust.

In what ways has the shift toward digitalising energy systems transformed your business model, operational practices, and overall strategy?

The move toward digitalising energy systems has changed LS Electric in three important ways. First, our business model has shifted from only selling electrical equipment to offering complete digital solutions. Now we provide IoT devices, AI monitoring, and cloud platforms that help customers actively manage and save energy. Second, our operations have become more efficient because digital tools allow us to use real-time data. LS Lenz is LS Electric’s digital platform that allows customers to access product information and track manufacturing in real time. By integrating QR code scanning and live updates, it enhances transparency and customer satisfaction. This tool reflects LS Electric’s broader strategy of digitalising energy systems, improving operational efficiency, and building trust with clients through data-driven services. It has also pushed us to train our teams in new digital skills and strengthen cybersecurity to protect connected systems. Third, our overall strategy has evolved to focus on building smart grids, integrating renewable energy, and supporting carbon-neutral goals. This transformation helps us diversify revenue, build stronger customer relationships, and position LS Electric as a trusted partner in creating smart, sustainable energy systems worldwide.

How is the company positioning itself for future trends, like the electrification of transportation and the rise of decentralised energy systems?

LS Electric is positioning itself at the forefront of future energy trends by aligning its portfolio with two major global shifts i.e the electrification of transportation and the rise of decentralised energy systems. In transportation, the company is investing in advanced charging infrastructure, smart load management, and grid integration solutions to support the rapid growth of electric vehicles. By combining power conversion systems with digital monitoring platforms, LS Electric ensures that EV charging is efficient, reliable, and scalable.

Decentralised energy systems are transforming the way power is generated and consumed, and LS Electric is positioning itself strongly in this area. Instead of relying only on large central power plants, decentralised systems allow communities, industries, and even individual customers to generate, store, and use clean energy locally. LS Electric supports this trend by developing smart grids, microgrids, and advanced energy storage solutions that make local energy reliable and efficient. Through IoT-enabled devices and AI-driven platforms, customers gain real-time visibility and control over their energy use, which improves efficiency and reduces carbon emissions. This approach empowers customers to become active participants in the energy ecosystem, while also strengthening grid resilience and supporting the global move toward carbon-neutral energy.

What upcoming milestones or product launches are you most excited for, and what can clients look forward to in the future?

We are very excited about several upcoming milestones that reflect LS Electric’s transformation into a digital and sustainable energy solutions provider. One key area is the expansion of our smart energy platforms, where clients will see new IoT-enabled devices, AI-driven monitoring, and cloud-based solutions that make energy management more transparent and efficient.

One of the most exciting upcoming milestones for LS Electric is the launch of the UTV400, our new moulded case circuit breaker designed specifically for renewable energy and decentralised systems. The UTV400 is built to handle high voltages up to 1000Vac, making it ideal for photovoltaic installations, energy storage systems, and wind power projects. It offers compact design, high breaking capacity, and dual IEC/UL certification, ensuring both safety and global compatibility.

With innovations like the UTV400, expansion into project business, and digital tools such as LS Lenz, LS Electric is not just adapting to change we are leading it, empowering clients to build smarter, safer, and more sustainable energy systems for the future.
