MR. NIRMAL SARAF Managing Director Nirmal Wires Pvt Ltd

“Our long-term growth strategy places aluminium conductors at the centre of our expansion plans, aligned with evolving power transmission and grid modernisation requirements. Our Khordha unit in Odisha has received approvals from the SLSWCA for expansion, enabling a phased capacity addition of approximately 60000 tonnes per annum (or 5000 tonnes per month) with a planned investment of ₹150 crore. This expansion strengthens our readiness to scale aluminium conductor manufacturing.”

What are your company’s core vision and mission, and how do these guiding principles shape your daily operations and decision-making?

Our vision and mission provide the direction, but it is their practical application that truly defines how we operate. Our vision is to be an innovative and sustainable value creator while ethically promoting inclusive growth. This establishes a long-term outlook where innovation, responsibility, and trust guide every strategic decision. Our mission to build the Nirmal brand through excellence, continuous innovation, optimum-cost manufacturing, and consistently surpassing customer expectations sets clear priorities for performance and accountability.

On a day-to-day basis, these principles translate into disciplined execution across operations. Quality is treated as non-negotiable, with continuous monitoring, testing, and improvement embedded into every stage of manufacturing. Customer requirements directly influence decision-making, with feedback actively reviewed, corrective actions implemented, and learnings carried forward into product and process enhancements. Alongside this, we are integrating ESG-aligned initiatives across our production processes— optimizing energy usage, reducing material waste, and improving resource efficiency—to lower environmental impact and operating costs while maintaining quality and driving continuous innovation. We continue to invest in technology, quality systems, and workforce upskilling with a clear focus on long-term reliability rather than short-term output. Every operational decision is evaluated on its ability to enhance consistency, improve product performance, and strengthen customer confidence. By aligning strategy, execution, and customer engagement with our vision and mission, we ensure that growth remains purposeful, standards uncompromised, and trust reinforced through every interaction.

. As customers increasingly demand higher corrosion resistance and long-term durability, how is your company responding to these industry trends through product Innovation?

As infrastructure, power, and industrial customers increasingly demand higher corrosion resistance and longer service life, the industry is shifting toward advanced, performance-driven wire solutions. At Nirmal Wires, we are responding to this trend through continuous product innovation and material engineering excellence. Our flagship NIZNAL® wire range represents a major advancement in corrosion-resistant wires, featuring a zinc–aluminium alloy coating that delivers up to 6 times longer life compared to conventional galvanized wires. The alloy’s selfhealing properties actively protect the exposed core from rusting, ensuring sustained corrosion resistance even in aggressive coastal, urban, and industrial environments. Alongside this, our GI wire and PVC-coated wires continue to evolve, offering reliable protection across diverse applications. All our wires are coated using highpurity zinc, ensuring uniform coating, superior adhesion, and enhanced resistance to corrosion. Through these innovations, we remain committed to delivering durability, reliability, and long-term value to our customers.

What automation, digitalisation, and Industry 4.0 technologies are currently deployed across your manufacturing facilities?

Across our manufacturing facilities, we have actively deployed automation technologies to enhance operational control, transparency, and reliability. A key pillar of this effort is our automation integration initiatives that are our IP. We use an RFID-based tracking system, which provides real-time visibility and batch traceability. This allows us to maintain high levels of accountability, data accuracy and process transparency across operations. This digital infrastructure allows us to monitor inventory movement at every stage, significantly reduce manual interventions and errors, and respond swiftly to supply chain or production challenges. In parallel, we have integrated our systems with digitally aligned logistics partners, enabling seamless coordination for both domestic and international shipments. Together, intelligent tracking, data-driven monitoring, and reliable logistics form the backbone of our Industry 4.0 journey, helping us deliver consistent quality, operational efficiency, and on-time performance for customers worldwide.

What strategies does your company implement to ensure customer satisfaction and provide reliable after-sales support?

Customer satisfaction is central to the way we operate, and our approach extends well beyond the point of sale. We focus on clear pre-order alignment, consistent product quality, and responsive post-delivery support to ensure reliability across the customer lifecycle. Dedicated sales and technical teams work closely with customers to understand application requirements, resolve queries, and provide timely guidance on product usage and performance.

After sales, we follow a structured feedback and grievance redressal process, where customer inputs are carefully reviewed and translated into corrective or preventive actions wherever required. Quality-related concerns are addressed through root-cause analysis, documented follow-ups, and continuous improvement measures. By combining strong communication, accountability, and technical support, we ensure dependable aftersales service and build long-term, trust-based relationships with customers across domestic and international markets.

In what ways does your company diplomatically position itself to maintain a sustainable competitive advantage in the face of global competition?

In an increasingly competitive global landscape, we position ourselves through a balanced and forward-looking strategy that emphasizes credibility, consistency, and long-term value rather than short-term competitiveness. A core element of this approach is strict adherence to internationally recognised certifications such as ASTM, JIS, BSI, BSEN, DIS and SLSI, which allows us to compete in regulated, specification-driven markets and build trust with global customers. We are the first Indian steel wire manufacturer to obtain the JIS Certification. These certifications signal reliability, technical competence, and alignment with global engineering standards.

Beyond compliance, we focus on product differentiation through innovation, particularly in corrosion-resistant and application-specific wire solutions, while maintaining disciplined quality systems that ensure consistency at scale. Equally important is our customer-centric engagement, which involves working collaboratively with clients, responding constructively to feedback, and adapting products to evolving market needs. Combining global certifications, innovation, operational reliability, and relationship-driven engagement, we sustain a competitive advantage that is resilient, credible, and aligned with longterm global market expectations.

What will be the main growth plans in terms of products, capacity and markets for the forthcoming decades?

Our long-term growth strategy places aluminium conductors at the centre of our expansion plans, aligned with evolving power transmission and grid modernisation requirements. Our Khordha unit in Odisha has received approvals from the SLSWCA for expansion, enabling a phased capacity addition of approximately 60000 tonnes per annum (or 5000 tonnes per month) with a planned investment of ₹150 crore. This expansion strengthens our readiness to scale aluminium conductor manufacturing.

In parallel, AAC and ACSR conductors manufactured at our Deulti unit have been approved by the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, allowing us to participate in national grid expansion, reconductoring projects, and renewable energy evacuation corridors. From a product perspective, we are moving beyond conventional conductors toward advanced aluminium solutions such as ACAR and ACSS, designed for higher current-carrying capacity, elevated operating temperatures, and right-of-way constrained networks. Alongside capacity growth, we are investing in precision manufacturing and quality systems to ensure consistent, utilitygrade performance. Our market focus remains on domestic transmission projects while selectively expanding into export markets undergoing grid modernisation.
