At REI 2025, we are showcasing both our upcoming solar cell manufacturing facility and our diverse range of solar products. Our Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh plant will feature state-of-the-art bifacial TOPCon cell technology, delivering higher energy yield and enhanced performance.
Q. Gautam Solar is participating in REI this year. What key technologies or products are you showcasing at the event, and what do you hope visitors will take away?
At REI this year, Gautam Solar will be showcasing
its flagship 630 Wp R-Series TOPCon solar module,
which stands out for:
- Next-generation rectangular cell design that ensures higher power density and maximum energy output.
- Superior efficiency and reliability, making it ideal for utility, commercial, and rooftop projects.
- ALMM and BIS approvals, providing strong assurance of quality and compliance with Indian standards.
Along with this innovation, we will also be highlighting our latest range of high-efficiency TOPCon modules, designed to meet the diverse needs of India’s growing solar market.
Q. Gautam Solar is scaling up its module and cell manufacturing capacity rapidly. Can you share the vision behind your current expansions and how it aligns with India’s push for energy self-reliance?
Gautam Solar’s current expansion in both module and solar cell manufacturing is guided by our vision
to strengthen India’s renewable energy ecosystem and reduce dependence on imports. With India targeting ambitious renewable energy milestones, domestic manufacturing becomes the backbone of true energy self-reliance.
By scaling up our capacities, we aim to:
- Ensure backward integration – with our upcoming 5 GW solar cell facility in Gwalior (M.P.),
we will secure long-term supply stability for our modules. - Support India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative – offering high-quality DCR-compliant modules to meet government and public-sector project requirements.
- Deliver advanced technologies at scale – in cluding high-efficiency TOPCon modules, ensuring Indian projects have access to the latest global innovations without relying on imports.
- Contribute to India’s net-zero journey – by building sustainable, cost-efficient, and domestically manufactured solutions for the solar sector.
Our vision is to position Gautam Solar as not just a leading manufacturer, but also as a partner in India’s
journey toward renewable energy security and independence.
Q. With your 5 GW solar cell plant coming up in Madhya Pradesh, how important is localization of manufacturing in reducing India’s dependence on imports and improving the renewable ecosystem?
Localization of manufacturing is central to reducing India’s reliance on imports and building long-term
energy security. Our 5 GW solar cell plant in Madhya Pradesh is a step towards creating a self-reliant
ecosystem where critical components are produced domestically, cutting exposure to supply chain risks
and price volatility.
Beyond reducing dependence, local manufacturing generates jobs, supports ancillary industries, and
lowers logistics costs, making the renewable value chain more sustainable. It also positions India to
adopt and develop advanced technologies faster, ensuring that we grow not only as a consumer but
as a global leader in solar manufacturing.
Q. How does REI help Gautam Solar connect with potential partners, investors, or customers, and how important are such platforms for business growth?
REI provides us with a powerful platform to showcase our capabilities, engage with potential partners
and investors, and strengthen relationships with customers. Such platforms are invaluable because
they bring the entire renewable energy ecosystem under one roof manufacturers, developers, financiers, policymakers, and technology providers. For Gautam Solar, it opens opportunities to demonstrate our products, exchange ideas on emerging technologies, and explore collaborations that can accelerate growth. Beyond business leads, events like REI also help us align with industry trends and build visibility for our long-term vision in India’s renewable energy journey.
Q. Are there any new module technologies, energy storage solutions, or digital tools that you’re highlighting at REI to address efficiency and sustainability challenges?
At REI 2025, we are showcasing both our upcoming solar cell manufacturing facility and our diverse
range of solar products. Our Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh plant will feature state-of-the-art bifacial
TOPCon cell technology, delivering higher energy yield and enhanced performance.
The commissioning of the facility is planned in two phases. Phase 1, with a 2 GW capacity, has already begun construction and is expected to be operational by June 2026. Following the successful commissioning of Phase 1, Gautam Solar plans to launch its IPO, which will fund the construction of Phase 2 an additional 3 GW capacity targeted to be operational by June 2028.
This phased approach ensures smooth scaling of operations, integration of advanced technology, and the delivery of high-performance modules to meet growing domestic and international demand, while also enhancing India’s energy self-reliance and reducing import dependency.
Q. With growing demand for solar modules across utility, commercial, and rooftop segments, how does Gautam Solar ensure product quality, bankability, and customer trust?
With 28+ years of proven expertise, Gautam Solar has built a strong legacy of trust and reliability in
the renewable energy sector. Our solar modules come with 30 years of assured performance and warranty, which reflects the confidence we have in our products. This assurance becomes even more
significant in today’s market, where many new entrants may not have the long-term track record to
back such commitments something only an experienced and time-tested company can offer.
Further strengthening our credibility are our strong CRISIL ratings of A-/Stable (long term) and A2+
(short term), which underline our financial stability and bankability. Together, our legacy, quality
certifications, and robust financial standing ensure that customers can invest in Gautam Solar products with complete confidence.
Q. Looking ahead to 2030, what are the key milestones Gautam Solar aims to achieve in technology, production capacity, and contribution to India’s renewable energy targets?
Looking ahead to 2030, Gautam Solar aims to be at the forefront of solar innovation by adopting advanced technologies such as bifacial and TopCon solar cells, along with exploring energy storage
and digital solutions to enhance efficiency and sustainability. On the production side, our 5 GW solar
cell facility in Madhya Pradesh will strengthen India’s domestic manufacturing ecosystem, reduce import dependence, and ensure a steady supply of high-quality, bankable modules.
