The Ministry of Power will showcase its tableau titled “Prakash Ganga: Powering an Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat” at the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2026, highlighting India’s transformative journey in the power sector and its growing global leadership in clean and sustainable energy.
The tableau underscores India’s evolution from achieving universal electricity access to emerging as a clean energy leader, reinforcing the government’s commitment to building a self-reliant and developed nation. The theme Prakash Ganga, meaning “River of Light,” symbolises the continuous and seamless flow of electricity across the country through an interconnected national grid.
A key attraction of the tableau is a robotic Smart Meter model alongside wind turbine generators, representing the integration of digital technologies, automation, and smart solutions for efficient and modern power management.
The central section presents the “Smart Power, Smarter Home” concept, featuring rooftop solar installations that reflect the government’s vision of empowering citizens as prosumers—both producers and consumers of electricity. A tall transmission structure signifies last-mile connectivity, while an EV charging station and electric scooter highlight the power sector’s role in enabling clean mobility and a sustainable transportation ecosystem.
The rear segment showcases India’s renewable energy capabilities through depictions of hydroelectric, wind, and geothermal power, symbolising the country’s expanding clean energy footprint. A structure bearing the message “Switching on India” represents advanced control and monitoring centres that ensure grid stability and uninterrupted power supply.
Mounted on a structure resembling coiled electrical cables, the tableau reflects the vast scale, strength, and resilience of India’s national power grid, which connects millions of households and industries across the country.
Through this Republic Day presentation, the Ministry of Power will reaffirm its commitment to delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity, supporting economic growth, strengthening energy security, and powering India’s vision of becoming a developed nation.
