Jyoti Structures Commissions 400 kV Gadag–II Transmission Line Project in Karnataka

Jyoti Structures Limited has announced the successful completion and commissioning of the 400 kV Gadag–II Transmission Line Project in the state of Karnataka for its client Renew Power.

The project involves the construction of approximately 100 circuit kilometres (CKM) of twin High-Temperature Low-Sag (HTLS) transmission line, connecting the Gadag Pooling Station to the Koppal Pooling Station. The transmission corridor passes through challenging Right of Way (ROW) regions across the districts of Gadag and Koppal, where difficult interior terrain and black cotton soil conditions posed significant engineering and execution challenges.

The transmission line forms an important component of the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) designed to facilitate the evacuation of renewable energy generated from the Koppal Solar Energy Zone, which has an estimated capacity of 1,500 MW. By enabling efficient power transmission from this renewable hub, the project strengthens grid connectivity and supports the integration of large-scale solar power into the national electricity network.

According to the company, the commissioning of the project represents a significant milestone in enhancing renewable energy infrastructure and improving interstate power transfer capability. The development is expected to play a key role in supporting India’s clean energy transition and advancing the country’s renewable energy targets.

Jyoti Structures stated that the successful completion of the project reinforces its capabilities in executing complex transmission infrastructure across challenging terrains while contributing to the expansion of India’s power transmission network.
